This past Friday I *finally* picked up Taylor’s Vox amp (the crazy-belated Christmas present - it’s a long story regarding Pink amps, discontinued amps, and confused [but hopefully honest] sales reps).

I’d been eyeing this Orange Rockerverb 50 Combo the last few times I was in the store and finally decided to take my guitar in and play it. Once the looked at the price tag I was dissuaded. I tried the amp head next to it (called a ‘Tiny Terror’) because it was the same company and 1/4th the price. Both amps sounded great, and I was blown away at what the Tiny Terror could do for the size (14 watts) and price.

I took the Tiny Terror home and played it through my Marshall cab. I was surprised at how much the head sounded like my other solid state Marshall head (due to the inexpensive speakers). I thought *very* long and *very* hard and finally talked myself into taking back the Orange head and buying the Orange combo.

The sound is great. It’s really the best sounding amp I’ve played through. I’m sad to have to let my Marshall half-stack go (we’ve done a lot together), but this combo is much more practical for what I do and also sounds a great deal better.
